LCCC was formed in 1978 by a small group
of Vette lovers, deep in the heart of Amish
country in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
This is quite a contrast when you compare a
500 horse glass machine, to a 1 horse
buggy...
The club started as a social club (parties,
cruises, tours), but then moved into the
competition events we all enjoy today
(autocross, drag racing, track, driving
schools). The club had a tough time finding
members at first and has grown into our
thriving club of today. The growth was
exponential and mainly by word of mouth.
The club has made a good name for itself and
known as the place to be in Lancaster
County.
The first Chevrolet sponsor was Heritage
Chevrolet in Lititz, PA. The Reed Chevrolet
dealership became the next sponsor. The
Reed dealership sold out and sponsorship was
picked up by what is known today as Faulkner
Chevrolet.
The club is connected with the
Spina Bifida charity and has been since the
beginning of club formation. The club
also participates in many parades and other
events as a way to get more donations that
are given to Spina Bifida. Charity fund
raising is a major part of what the club
stays focused on.The
club created a presence on the world wide
web in 1996 with our first domain name and
web pages. The club produces a monthly
newsletter for use by our members. The
monthly member meeting has turned into a very
well attended social event and business
meeting.
This club has grown
into a respected organization within the
East Region of the National Council of
Corvette Clubs (ERNCC) and with Corvette
owners in Lancaster County. |
